Parks in the Baldwin Hills

At the present time there is not an official Baldwin Hills Park. Instead, there are several parks within the Baldwin Hills, not all of which are connected to one another. The park plan for the Baldin hills calls for aquiring additional park lands, and creating "One Big Park" within the core of Los Angles. At present, some of the parks located within the Baldwin Hills include:
  • Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area - located off La Cienga Boulevard just north of Laderaheights, has hiking trails, fishing, and great views of Los Angeles. The park is managed by LA County.
  • Ladera Park (Los Angeles County) - located at 6027 Ladera Park Avenue in Los Angeles, one block west of LaBrea and south of Saluson.
  • Jim Gilliam Park - 4000 South Labrea Avenue.

About this site:

On this web site you will find information about the Baldwin Hills Park plan, geology, plants, and wildlife within the planned park, neigboring communities, and activities at the parks that already exist within the boundaries of the planned Baldwin Hills Park. This is not an official site of the park, and I ask for help from anyone that can correct any information I might post, or who has additional links or resources to suggest.
