Geology of the Baldwin Hills

The geology of the Baldwin Hills has been studied extensivly for two reasons. First, there is oil in them thar hills, and secondly, the Baldwin Hills Dam Collapse of 1963 (see the history page of this site) has been extensivly studied. Information on the geology of the Baldwin Hills as it relates to the Dam Collaps can be found at: I have only started to work on this page, and there is a lot more information that will be added in the future. I will be adding fault maps and other information.

About this site:

On this web site you will find information about the Baldwin Hills Park plan, geology, plants, and wildlife within the planned park, neigboring communities, and activities at the parks that already exist within the boundaries of the planned Baldwin Hills Park. This is not an official site of the park, and I ask for help from anyone that can correct any information I might post, or who has additional links or resources to suggest.
